Consensus lacking as 700 MHz deadlines loom

Many ideas were advanced during the FCC comment period regarding the 700 MHz D Block proposal, but the oft-conflicting notions seemed to raise more questions than answers for the commission, which could make a decision on the matter this month. After failing to attract a qualifying D Block bid earlier this year, the FCC released proposed rules that would make the 10 MHz of commercial spectrum — paired with 10 MHz of public-safety broadband spectrum in a shared network for first responders — more attractive to commercial bidders.
