Intermec RFID reader meets Cisco standard

Intermec Technologies Corp. said this week that its IF5 radio frequency identification reader has become the first RFID device to be designated as interoperable with Cisco Systems’ RFID solution. The compatibility enables companies to place the IF5 reader into their Cisco infrastructure without any manual configuration. The network recognizes the IF5 as an RFID device and then configures it to the correct personality based on its location, allowing it to begin operating immediately, Intermec said.
