Motorola to begin WiMAX trial

Motorola and Vietnam Datacommunications signed an agreement to commence a WiMAX trial in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's two largest cities. The year-long trial is expected to begin in October. Phase one will cover an urban area in Hanoi, and the second phase will cover a similar urban area in Ho Chi Minh City, according to Motorola. In other news, Motorola won a contract from Marubeni Corp. in Taipei, Taiwan, to deploy a TETRA digital-radio communications system for the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport rail transit network.
