Transcrypt lands $1.4 Million contract from Iraqi army

Transcrypt International announced it has received a $1.4 million contract from the New Iraqi Army to provide encryption boards that will support two-way land mobile radio communications. Transcrypt’s distributor, St. Charles, Ill.-based Radio & Trunking Distributors International, received the order, which represents “the first portion of a significant piece of business,” said Charles DeVito, president of Radio & Trunking Distributors International, Inc. In other news, Transcrypt’s parent, EFJ, Inc., recently reported net income of $6.5 million—or 37 cents per share—for fiscal 2003.
