Exalt Communications announces 4.9 GHz backhaul system

Wireless-backhaul solutions provider Exalt Communications recently announced the general availability of its high-capacity solution operating in the 4.9 GHz band that is used by public safety. Exalt founder and CEO Amir Zoufonoun said the company’s 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz solutions led to some customized 4.9 GHz solutions that then led to the formalized 4.9 GHz products that are generally available—the EX-i for indoor configurations and the EX-r for outdoor use. “We had always thought about doing 4.9 GHz, but we didn’t think we would do it this quickly—basically, that was driven by the market,” he said. “[Customers] ...
